When it comes to matcha & cafes just like any other girly on TikTok, I’m always on the hunt for the next best one. My next stop for the review series is none other than Honey Greens located in Downey, California. They don’t only offer matcha but also have delicious coffee drinks and sandwiches but cute designs to go right on top of your drink! They offer designs of The LA Dodgers, Sonny Angels, Labubus, Snoopy and a couple more.
To start I want to explain my grading scale. V+ is obviously a 10/10 product or service. It met or even exceeded my expectations and definitely think it’s worth your money & time to spend. A V , a 8-9/10, means it was still really good, but something was either missing or just didn’t meet the requirements of a V+ grading but still worth your money and time. A V-, a 5-7/10, means it was pretty good but still had a lot of work to do in order to get a higher reviewing grade and might not be worth your money so many times. Anything below a 5/10 is automatically considered an F and has met little to no standards on the grading scale and is definitely not worth your money.

I first heard about Honey Greens from content creator Jazzy Macias AKA @jazzmaciass on TikTok & @jazzymaciass on Instagram. Jazzy has not only posted several videos of Honey Greens of their drinks & special designs but she herself has also collaborated with them on a special design for her very own drink. Finally after all the videos I would see of other people trying Honey Greens, finding out it’s women owned in March, and Jazzy always posting their drinks, it was time to finally try it.
After a very quick gym session but before taking my mom to work, we all decided to make our way over to Honey Greens to give it a try in hopes of the line not being long like it usually has been before during the times we’ve attempted. Luckily this time there was no line and only people waiting for their drinks. But once you walk in, it is a very inviting and comfortable atmosphere with music playing in the background. I ordered the Sweet Matcha Latte with oat milk, strawberry cloud foam and a lion Sonny Angel design while my mom ordered the Chaga Matcha Latte with whole milk, strawberry cloud foam and a Zimomo Labubu design. My total was $19. Which wasn’t too bad of a price for the cloud foam & design included along with the drink.
While waiting we discovered the stickers they had for Women’s Month which included Sonny Angel versions of Karol G, Celia Cruz and Becky G. Which were so adorable and had me itching for a customized Nessa Barrett Sonny Angel. Luckily the wait was only about 10 minutes, maybe less and our drinks were ready. The designs were too cute that it made me almost not want to drink. My first sips impression was that it was definitely sweet but not overpowering sweet that suddenly gives you a jolt of energy just from that one sip. The sweetness complemented the matcha very well instead of completely taking it over. The cloud foam was delicious along with the brown sugar that created the Sonny Angel image, but it was too sweet for my liking. My brother & mom did like the Chaga Matcha but both agreed that it felt like it was missing something.
My overall rating is a V. It was definitely good matcha but willing to go back and try different things to try the different matcha drinks they have to offer along with finding that something missing my brother & mom were talking about in their drink. If you love affordable matcha or semi sweet drinks with cute designs on top, Honey Greens is definitely a place to try! Down below will be a link to Jazzy’s TikTok that first caught my attention.
