The Erewhon Vanilla Matcha Smoothie

Welcome one & welcome all to the first episode of V+. The first review in our series, we will be focusing on the Vanilla Matcha Smoothie from Erewhon. I wanted to start off with something small & simple as I gradually move to bigger items & such to review. But for now, let’s find out whether the Vanilla Matcha Smoothie gets a V+ or an F.

To start I want to explain my grading scale. V+ is obviously a 10/10 product or service. It met or even exceeded my expectations and definitely think it’s worth your money & time to spend. A V , a 8-9/10, means it was still really good, but something was either missing or just didn’t meet the requirements of a V+ grading. A V-, a 5-7/10, means it was pretty Deven but still had a lot of work to do in order to get a higher reviewing grade. Anything below a 5/10 is automatically considered an F and has met little to no standards on the grading scale.

(My grading scale is also not to be taken seriously, I am simply starting my own review series based on my own opinions, standards, and experiences. Please understand that everyone’s opinion may & will be different and know not everyone will agree.)

Erewhon is known for their infamous smoothies where they collaborate with the most influential people at the moment such as Becky G, Nara Smith, Lori Harvey, The Los Angeles Dodgers and so much more. Their most famous smoothie of all is the only collab smoothie they have still available which is the Hailey Bieber Strawberry Skin Glaze smoothie.

The drink is made with organic strawberries, a creamy almond milk, and avocado which is blended together perfectly to give that perfect pink hue. It also includes collagen & sea moss for more added benefits. We all know & love Hailey’s smoothie but one I haven’t tried is the Vanilla Matcha Smoothie.

It first came out as a collaboration drink with Lori Harvey, but the drink was well loved that Erewhon decided to keep it as their own. The drink includes organic matcha, oat milk, grass fed vanilla collagen, Agent Nateurs marine collagen, MCT oil, Zumba Valley organic coconut cream, Lions mane, vegan cream top, chlorella, sea moss, and tocos.

When I saw that it was still available, I made my brother drive me to the nearest location which was in Pasadena. Once walking in, it was immediately smaller than the other one I’ve been too but still has all your necessities. Walking to the cafe, I’m already met with a sea of people either waiting for their smoothie or waiting to order one.

Luckily it didn’t take too long to reach the front of the line but I was baffled at the price for two regular sized smoothies. I wasn’t surprised but still pretty baffled. My order was one Hailey Bieber Smoothie and one Vanilla Matcha Smoothie, which costed me $41. It’s always okay to try things for the experience, but would I actually spend my money again? We’ll get to that in the end.

Considering they were pretty busy, the wait for the smoothies was about 15 minutes or less which gives you time to browse around the store. Once my order was ready, I poked my straw into the lids and took my first sip.

At first sip, I genuinely felt like I didn’t get anything but after the next couple of sips I tasted the perfect blend of matcha and vanilla together and it was just delicious. Who doesn’t love a healthy beneficial & delicious smoothie?!

My overall grade I will be giving the Vanilla Matcha Smoothie will be a V-. The drink itself is & looks delicious. The matcha is nowhere bitter and the vanilla is not too sweet at all. It’s literally a perfect blend & combination of the two flavors. But it is definitely not worth the price of something you know you’re more than likely to recreate at home or find somewhere else at an affordable price and possibly a bigger size.

Do you guys agree with my grading? Why or why not? What would you have graded it? Is there any places you wanna see me try & review? Leave a comment down below or message me on instagram!
