Among them is Gabby, whose innate talent for makeup seemed almost predestined. In a recent conversation, Gabby shared her insights into her craft, revealing the profound love and dedication that fuels her artistry.
Tell us who you are & what you do
My name is Gabby short for Gabriela and I am a makeup artist based in the La county area.
Tell us about your business
My business is being a makeup artist and providing the best beauty service.
What got you into that line of business ?
I got into this line of business because I’ve always loved makeup and my mom was a makeup artist too so watching it growing up I’ve always loved it.
Have you been supporting yourself or have others been supporting you ?
I have been supporting myself with the help of a second job working at a makeup store.
What is one of the hardest things in owning a business like yours that people find “easy”?
The hardest thing about being a makeup artist is growing your clientele.
What’s your favorite part about it ?
My favorite part about it is making women feel beautiful.
What are some pros & cons to your business ?
A pro is getting to meet new people and finding new makeup products to try, a con is trying to find a steady clientele and keeping it.
What are some difficulties you face in owning a business ?
Some difficulties would be finding what works best for all faces because everyone is different and every product works different.
Who is your dream client & why ?
My dream client would be Karol G because she is so beautiful and positive.
Is there anything you would change about your business?
The only thing I would change is I wish I started earlier.
Any tips for other small business owners or anyone that wants to pursue the same thing as you ?
Tips for other beginner Makeup artists is PRACTICE!! And don’t ever stop keep going.
