As of late it has become more of a trend, you can say, to receive flowers or to simply give flowers to those you love. Flowers are something so simple yet so intricate & delicate. But Heymi is a woman who knows not only a way to a woman’s heart, but to take something so simple and turn it into something so beautiful & special for others to enjoy.
I had the opportunity to ask Heymi some questions about Arehy’s Flower Shop and what inspired her to start her business.
Tell us who you are & what you do
My name is Heymi Arehy and i am a self taught florist
Tell us about your business
Arehy’s Flower Shop is my floral business that i started about a year ago. I do anything from floral bouquets to proposals and weddings.

What got you into that line of business ?
My mother is my ultimate inspiration for this. Growing up she was always interested with anything that had to do with art, creative thinking and florals.
Have you been supporting yourself or have others been supporting you ?
I was very fortunate to have two such wonderful parents who supported me and helped me begin this business. They invested and believed in from the start which is something i am eternally grateful for.
What is one of the hardest things in owning a business like yours that people find “easy”?
I think some people really underestimate florist and the amount of work and effort that’s put into something as simple as a bouquet of flowers. It’s definitely very time consuming and requires a lot of researching and investing to find the right products and vendors.
What’s your favorite part about it ?
My favorite part is seeing the amount of sweet and personal moments i’m able to be apart of.
What are some pros & cons to your business ?
Thinking about it i really feel like i don’t have any cons, i really enjoy my job. Everything really is a pro to me at the end of the day to me. I love meeting new people and i love being able to be apart of such a wonderful community. My biggest pro is being able to see the amount of smiles i can create.

What are some difficulties you face in owning a business ?
The only challenge i have faced is time management. Working on orders gets tricky since i am a full time college student. I really wish i could fulfill all of them but sometimes that’s not possible.
Who is your dream client & why ?
Creative director Nicola Brogano!!! He’s been such an inspiration in the fashion world to me that even collabing with someone who i admire so much is an absolute dream.
Is there anything you would change abour your business ?
Nothing at all! I love being able to learn from my mistakes and successes. It’s all apart of my journey.
Any tips for other small business owners or anyone that wants to pursue the same thing as you ?
My biggest tip is let time do its thing! I feel like being able to just let myself learn through the months eventually led me to find my style in the industry. I tried new things everyday and allowed myself to learn from trial and error! It won’t come easy and it won’t always come fast.
I’m very very grateful that i’m allowed to be in such a creative industry that i wouldn’t change it for the world. I’m happy to see how much more i progress as time goes on.
